Ottawa, Canada—Tuesday, April 26, 2005 // BTI Photonic Systems, the established leader in photonic layer Metro connectivity-over-fiber systems, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Effect Technologies, for Jiangsu Province in China. Together the companies will be implementing a metro and WDM infrastructure for companies in Jiangsu Province. This commercial agreement continues BTI’s thrust into China and will provide Effect Technologies with BTI’s family of Netstender products.

BTI and Effect are working together to implement multi-vendor connectivity-over-fiber solutions to extend key customers in Jiangsu Province while maintaining their current incumbent WDM vendors. “With BTI’s Netstender family of products and excellence in networking design we are able to build a network that maximizes the use of the existing fiber assets. Their multi-protocol approach ensures we can implement their technologies with our existing service platforms,” said Yin Fei, President of Effect Technologies.
