Ottawa, Canada—Monday, November 7, 2005 // BTI Photonic Systems, a leading global supplier of metro edge systems for the build-out of new broadband services, today announced that its Netstender™ platform has been deployed by the EGAT Public Company Limited as it builds out its network for competitive services delivery. For this project, BTI Photonic Systems partnered with TTI (Thai Transmission Industry Co.,Ltd.) a provider of network implementation skills and technology support, to form a competitive team for Thailand’s telecom service providers.
“With deregulation in Thailand, EGAT Plc. is building a world
class network for delivery of services throughout the country,” said
Wanchai Ganyamas, Assistant Governor-Transmission System Maintenance of
EGAT Plc. “We teamed with TTI, who brings the network skills and world
class support enabling us to provide competitive choice for telecom
services in Thailand. The combination of TTI’s world-class network and
technology support team with BTI’s Netstender network extension
capabilities allows us to competitively provide effective reach in our
network between the major cities throughout Thailand.”
“As a leading telecommunications systems integrator in Thailand
providing solutions to carriers, we selected BTI’s Netstender to
provide us with leading, network expanding technologies with usability
that outstrips the competition,” said Dr. Paisan Etitum, Executive
Director of TTI. “Working with BTI is allowing us to provide
compelling economics and network growth capabilities for EGAT”.
The partnership of BTI and TTI allows EGAT to build out their
network while reducing the complexity of optical networking. With
Netstender, EGAT can economically scale its network reach, extending
across Thailand a wealth of new competitive telecommunications services
already available in the central core.
TTI will be using BTI’s Netstender 2060 and Netstender 1030 for
the EGAT build-out of major sites including Bangkok, Phitsanulok,
Chiangmai, Suratthani, Hat Yai, plus others. In concert with a Marconi
SDH solution, BTI is providing EGAT with a complete network backbone
for delivery of competitive services.
