Ottawa, Canada—Wednesday, July 12, 2006 // BTI Photonic Systems Inc., a global supplier of low channel count - Thin-WDM - networking solutions for the build-out of new high-speed broadband services at the Optical Edge, today announced that it is expanding its operations into the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, under the leadership of James Worrall. James will lead EMEA sales and channel partnership activities for BTI outside of North America.

James Worrall has 15 years of sales and channel building experience in the telecommunications and IT industries. Most recently, Mr. Worrall was Sales Director of Axxessit. While there, Mr. Worrall and his team were instrumental in building a pan-European sales channel and introducing the Axxessit solution into 21 countries and to over 150 customers. Axxessit was acquired by a tier-1 global equipment vendor in 2005. His areas of expertise include international business and channel development and successful execution of sales strategy.
