Integrated Packet Services Modules

The packetVX™ Integrated Packet Services module family provides an innovative approach for rapid delivery of new Ethernet-based services. Integrated into the BTI 7000 series platform, packetVX™ provides Gigabit Ethernet service aggregation onto 10 Gbps Ethernet rings, coupling packet switching functionality with WDM; OTU-2 digital wrapper capabilities provide sub-50ms optical protection for increased service availability. Innovative service provisioning capabilities dramatically simplifies operations, management and provisioning of residential, video and Ethernet business services. Optional version for Outside plant applications allow efficient handling of all service types in any providers environment.

The BTI packetVX™ module family enables the following key applications:

Feature Summary

High Density: packetVX™ modules provide high density fan-in in an ultra-compact footprint with up to 24 GbE ports in a single 2RU module. Modules are stackable to support up to 72 GbE and up to 12 10GbE port configurations.

Scalable Service Functionality: including per flow packet classification, policing, marking, and mapping to delivery classes. An extensive suite of Ethernet PMs and SLAs is provided to deliver service-oriented connectivity.

Optimized HD Video Delivery: Embedded hardware based video processing delivers affordable, scalable, high performance HD video delivery. Purpose built hardware processing of channel change and VOD transactions ensures fast consistent response, and delivery of service requests.

Rapid Service Provisioning: Service provisioning is simplified with automatic end-to-end flow through configuration

Flexible Network Deployment: packetVX™ modules support a range of innovative ring aggregation capabilities and network topologies. The modules are also hardened for outside plant applications.
