At BTI Green Has Always Been In
Energy Efficiency
Definition: Using less energy to provide the same level of energy service. An example would be installing compact fluorescent lights instead of incandescent lights to attain the same level of illumination. Energy efficiency is achieved primarily by means of a more efficient technology or process. Source: Wikipedia
Our Environmental Commitment:
- BTI is committed to developing energy efficient technologies for service provider and enterprise networks. We use state-of-the-art technologies to produce low-power networking solutions – our products are small, energy efficient and have been engineered from day one to reduce carbon footprint in central offices and data centers.
- Our products are built to limit cooling requirements, noise, and electromagnetic radiation.
- A modular design and software-based evolution path extends product lifecycles, limiting forklift upgrades and IT waste.
- We are members of The Green Grid. The Green Grid is a global, vendor neutral industry consortium, dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.
- We limit printing where possible and when we do have to print we use Forest Stewardship Council certified paper. The FSC promotes good forest management across Canada. FSC certification ensures that the paper we use in all of our printed materials contains fiber from well-managed forests that meet strict environmental, social, and economic standards that have been certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council.
- We recycle everything – cans, plastics, paper, cardboard, computer chassis, motherboards, other computer parts, and networking gear.
- For most of us our second car really is a bike.
- We turn off the lights.
- And last but not least we are committed to finding new and innovative technologies and business practices which conform to environmental best practices for an ecologically responsible future.
As individuals and as a company we stand behind these principles.
We thank you for your interest in BTI Systems and hope that you will join us in building communications networks that promote a greener future.
